Hint

Hint is a study of the price often
paid by those involved in drug and substance misuse. An anonymous
account from inside the drug culture - a group whose opinions
are so often ignored by society - the film focusses on the destruction
of loving relationships which can result when families are affected
by drug addiction.
The instability of the subjects is re-
flected in the imagery of the film- the
non-linear structure of the visuals
evoking typical feelings and situations
which a drug user encounters
everyday, as well as the isolation experienced
by those families affected
drug misuse.

Park - Portrait
of a small space in a big city
Gordon-Smith
UK ï 2007 ï 5 mins
Amidst the urban sprawl the local Park is a haven - Through
the cycle of the four seasons Park gets close to the mix of
eccentrics, degenerates, delinquents and every day people who
share it. Josephine hates the city but loves the wildlife; Gerry
will forgive, but never forget; Bernie finds the courage deep
inside himself to love and be loved. Told through personal vignettes,
Park gives a fascinating insight into modern British metropolitan
communities and the personal and collective challenges people
face. Park, four years in the making, is the latest project,
produced by Justine Gordon-Smith, (winner Best BBC Newcomer
2001, Performing Rights Society Award 2002) for her Documentary
on Your Doorstep series, devised to reveal the compelling stories
and humanity within the everyday world around us.
