Beggars of Lahore
Sheba Saeed
UK ï 2006 ï 46 mins

Begging is a worldwide phenomenon. The age old proverb, beggars canít be choosers, is clear about beggars not having a choice- but is that really true of todayís begging population in Lahore, Pakistan? Beggars of Lahore is a journey into the streets of Pakistanís cultural hub and second largest city to discover what compels the beggars to beg, what measures have been put in place by the Government and Non Governmental Organisations to assist the beggars, and what the solutions may be to eradicate the problem.
