The Sawczuk family have been without work for many years, earning what they can by collecting scrap-iron or coal. It appears, however, that it is their 11 year old son Krzysiek ñ or Hercules as he is called by his father ñ who earns the money which makes ends meet. Moved by his story when it was broadcast on Polish Television, a young couple from Warsaw decide to take Hercules to Warsaw and the seaside.
