Eastern Exotica reflects the exotic
mosaic of the unique yet ordinary
lives of London immigrants in which
all must learn to ëcatch as catch caní.
Newly-arrived Eastern Europeans tell
their stories about escaping narrow
minds at home, sleeping in parks,
finding work, finding a stolen purse
in the bin, finding self-confidence, and
the conflict between capitalist and
communist mentalities.

 Sheila
Stewart is one of Scotland's traditional Traveller storytellers,
and Ballad singers. She has a rich repertoire and has a style
of singing that is strong and passionate and distinctively her
own yet in the fi nest mainstream of the Scottish tradition.
Last in the Line is screened in CCA 4 earlier in the day 1.15pm-
2.00pm where Sheila will also read from her biography of her
mother (Belle Stewart) Queen Amang The Heather.
