BrothMix
: where community spaces are turned into a free vegetarian
cafe & platform for the sharing of food,
ideas, seeds and produce, run by artists and friends and backed
by the resources of community food initiatives, gardeners and
allotment communities.
Soup & bread
is a near-universal dish, simple and sustaining; sharing in
eating, a universal activity. At BrothMix, soup (and
more besides!) is made from locally sourced,
fresh and seasonal vegetables, with freshly baked bread to
accompany. The working kitchen is fully open to the dining
facilities; cooking as a kind of performance.
The
vegetable ingredients are gathered through gardeners’ donations.
The meals initiated and formed by what’s brought
to the kitchen from the garden, and the recipes from the ideas
of the cooks and companions.
We
need you to get involved by: coming along, bringing your ideas,
offering your knowledge to share with others, pledging to bring
along your excess produce, lending equipment and materials, cooking
a wholesome meal or baking fresh bread.
