Thanks for everyone's help and support in making Broth Mix such a success.

It was a great week of wonderful and tasty recipes made from an amazing variety (and shapes!) of some great home grown veg, and there was some amazing bread too.

We have set up a flickr site to show some of the photos from the event. There will be more up soon: http://www.flickr.com/photos/16516965@N08/

Please contact us with any of your own documentation as we hope to put together a cook book from the week for December. It would also be a great help if everyone who donated produce could email us - brothmix@googlemail.com - so as to be sure we haven't missed anyone.

We would also like to get folk together who were involved to see if Broth Mix can inspire other activities in the future...

Thanks again,
Alex and Leigh

In October, with your help, the gallery space will be turned into a free vegetarian cafe & platform for the sharing of food, ideas, seeds and produce, run by artists and backed by the resources of community food initiatives, gardeners and allotment communities.

Soup & bread is a universal dish, simple and sustaining; sharing in eating, a universal activity. Made from locally sourced, fresh and seasonal vegetables, artists will cook soup (and more besides!) and bake bread in the gallery. The working kitchen will be fully open to the dining facilities; cooking as a kind of performance.

The vegetable ingredients will be gathered through gardeners’ donations. The meals will be initiated and formed by what’s brought to the kitchen from the garden and the recipes from the ideas of the artists cooking and visitors to the gallery.

Coinciding with Document 5 www.docfilmfest.org.uk, the bustling international human rights film festival, the space will become a busy meeting space.

We need you to get involved by: coming along, bringing your ideas, offering your knowledge to share with others, pledging to bring along your excess produce, lending equipment and materials, cooking a wholesome meal or baking fresh bread.

If you think you might be able to help out, or if you would simply like to know more, please contact us at: brothmix@googlemail.com
